TALKSOUND // v2.4

TalkSound

Make voice content easier to listen to.

A Chrome extension that fixes the audio of online courses, podcasts and talk shows — stereo widening, room ambience, loudness leveling and anti-fatigue EQ. Everything runs on your device.

WHY YOUR EARS GET TIRED
MONO Single-mic recordings collapse into the center of your head. TalkSound widens them into a balanced stereo image.
2–5 kHz Over-compressed voice pushes the harshest band straight at you. The anti-fatigue EQ pulls it back.
±10 dB Quiet guests, loud hosts, volume jumps between videos. Speaker leveling and auto loudness keep everything steady.
ON THE FACEPLATE

One-tap presets

Classroom, Panel Balance, Warm Voice, Anti-Fatigue — plus Bypass for instant A/B comparison.

Space & width

Balanced stereo widening and convolution reverb. Built-in rooms, or load your own impulse response.

Auto loudness

Targets -16 LUFS across videos and segments, so you stop reaching for the volume key.

De-esser

Split-band sibilance control tames spitty recordings without dulling the voice.

Real-time scope

Input vs output spectrum and gain-reduction meters — see exactly what the processing is doing.

Stays out of the way

Keyboard shortcut, per-site memory, auto-enable on learning platforms. Set it once, forget it.

SIGNAL CHAIN

Tab audio is captured, processed with the Web Audio API, and re-output — all inside your browser.

tab audio → EQ (warmth · de-harsh · air) → de-esser (5.5 kHz split-band) → levelerstereo width (Lauridsen) → reverb (convolution IR) → auto loudness (-16 LUFS) → limiter → your ears
PRIVACY

All processing happens locally on your device. TalkSound makes no network connections, collects nothing, and contains no analytics. Your audio never leaves your computer.
